Stabat Mater

STABAT MATER

Coproduction of Nagyvárad Dance Company and Central Europe Dance Theater

Stabat Mater is probably the most representative creation of the Christianity, a strong liturgy about the nature of mourning and presents the Mother sharing the sufferings of her Child in the jaws of death.

This coproduction of the Nagyvárad Dance Company and Central Europe Dance Theater looks after the connection points between this archaic liturgical theme and the man of the 21st century, on the background of values like: difference, cultural tradition and suffering borned with dignity.

Attila Kun is a Harangozó Gyula-awarded artist who has been the artistic director of Central Europe Dance Theatre since 2013. As a soloist he worked at Hungarian State Opera, at Rambert Dance Company in London and at Ballet Basel in Switzerland. Throughout his career Attila Kun has worked with well-known choreographers such as Christopher Bruce, Wayne McGregor, Ohad Naharin, Ji?í Kylián, Mats Ek, Mauro Bigonzetti, Jorma Elo and Johan Inger.
