VANmeSE

a musical for children and grown-ups

“In the everyday lives of today's little kids, traditional nursery rhymes and games, computer language, old tales and new stories, corn dollies and Kinder eggs, modern elements of the world around them get along perfectly. This new harmony is what we try to find using fresh works of contemporary poets, written from a child's perspective, rhythm games, and a lot of music and dance. The times change, children change, poems change. Our sons and daughters are getting ever smarter, and poetry and music can maje their lives richer and fuller” – Foltin Jolán

Choreographer Foltin Jolán, winner of the Kossuth Prize and  Nemzet M?vésze Award, formulates her works in a personal tone, inspired by the rich folk treasure of the Pannonian Basin. She once thought that she must make a children's show by combining elements of poetry, rhythm, music and dance. Now, with the help of young choreorgaphers, dancers and musicians of Nagyvárad Ensemble, and actors of Szigligeti Company, she reformulates this idea, searching for new children's poems from the last decade, great children's works from Romanian—Hungarian poetry.
