F. E.-Confessions

An Evening With Edit Firtos

Have you ever been to a theatre changing-room? How do you imagine it? Secrets, twilight, huge flower bouquets, a cloud of perfume, like in the old movies? I can assure you that the actress' changing room af Arcadia Theatre is everything but: an unadorned, simple, overworn room, even prozaic, if you wish, but nonetheless mysterious.
And do you know what actors do an hour before the show, how they prepare in body and soul? I'm just asking because here we have an actress, with the monogram F. E., maybe it's none other that Firtos Edit – although I wouldn't bet my life on it –, to whom we can just enter today. I mean into her dressing-room. She will let us sit with her, watch her get ready. What's more, she will talk to us – tell us about herself, life, love, work, all kinds of everyday stuff. Does it sound dangerous? I guarantee that it is not. If we find her in good spirits, she might even make us coffe. (Péter Tasnádi-Sáhy)
