Gala - Transylvanian Folk Dance Anthology XVII edition

in the organization of the Hungarian Folk Dance Association in Romania

The Transylvanian Folk Dance Anthology has been held annually since 2005 and is a professional meeting of amateur folk dance ensembles. The event starts with a preliminary selection in the spring, during which a jury selects the ten folk dance groups with the best choreography and invites them to the autumn Gala. The competition aims to support the healthy professional development of amateur folk dance companies in Transylvania, to map, monitor and guide the professional level of the companies, and mostly to build and strengthen the community of amateur folk dance companies in Transylvania, to create opportunities for joint activities. Since 2017, the event has expanded into a three-day festival, with professional workshops, meetings, performance opportunities and off-programmes preceding the Gala Evening.
