Of András Sütő's justly popular – still undeservedly forgotten – dramas, Advent on the Hargita is one of the most significant. The plot of the balladistically dense play takes place between two ominous mountains. Written in a poignantly solemn tone, its language is richly poetic. As András Sütő said himself, the play is “the real grief of Transylvania's great destruction, a common tragedy of identity loss, of running away”.
