Kovax performs at the FUX Festival
Péter Kovács alias Kovax, permanent member of Gábor Presser and Zorán’s band and musical director of the Retro páholy performance series, will be in Oradea. The 55-year-old musician emigrated from Romania 33 years ago, and has strong ties to Oradea, and to the puppet theatre in particular, as his father György Kovács was a key member of the puppet theatre for two decades as a puppet actor, director and translator between 1968 and 1990. Kovax is now returning to one of the most influential venues of his childhood, the Puppet Theatre on Zöldfa Street, paying tribute to his father. The event will take place on the second day of the Transylvanian Hungarian Professional Puppet Theatre Festival, or FUX Festival, which runs from 7-13 October.
On 8 October at 8 pm, he will return to Oradea, where his first early artistic influences were felt, as a mature artist, with fame, esteem and professional recognition under his belt.
The concert, titled Jöjj vissza, vándor, will be a special musical treat, featuring guests such as István Antal, frontman of the Oradea-based band Magneton, who also has a connection to the puppet theatre, and Szilveszter Schneider, one of Hungary's busiest session musicians.
Tickets are available at the Szigligeti Theatre box office or online at the usual website, szigligeti.biletmaster.ro.
