Successful dance concert in Hungary
After Nagyvárad and Budapest, Nagyvárad Ensemble and Central European Dance Theatre's collaboration Stabat Mater was a great success in Szolnok, too. The performance was presented on the second of May, to the invitation of the Szolnok Symhonic Orchestra, in Aba-Novák Agóra Cultural Centre. Monday evening, Rossini’s music was played live by the Szolnok Symhonic Orchestra, Vox Humana Chorus from Vác, Bartók Béla Chamber Choir from Szolnok, and also soprano L?rincz Judit, alto Megyesi Schwartz Lúcia, tenor Hanczár György, and basso profundo Cseh Antal. Conductor of the orchestra was Isaki Masahiro, director of music for Szolnok, arti director of the Szolnok Symhonic Orchestra.
The audience was captivated by the magic of live music and dance. In the introduction of the show, other works by Rossini were played. First, the overture of The Barber of Seville, then Una Voce Poco Fa, then, as the last piece of the first part of the show, La calunnia è un venticello.
The dance oratorio, put to the stage by director-choreographer Kun Attila, was presented in the second part. In fact, in these new circumstances, a brand new performance was born: the dancers had to adapt to the special stage of the location, and also to the ever-changing tempo of live music. Our artists have accomplished this task wonderfully, captivating the audience with a high-quality artistic achievement. The audience, on the other hand, showed its appreciation with a seemingly endless storm of applause. The production was supported by the Ministry of Human Resources and the National Cultural Fund of Hungary.
