Kate's Story
This is the title of the new performance by Nagyvárad Ensemble. The ballet is directed and coreographed by László Csaba, and it tries to find the answer to the question: what happens when men and women confuse their life roles with each other?
The play tries to draw a picture of our modern, off-balance world, where sometimes abnormal becomes normal, a world order created and crstallized by the millenia. At the same time, it speaks about the power of tradition, that helps us create a community, about the freedom to fly, but also the fact that we need somewhere to belong, that life is, in fact, a multitude of compromise, but basically, of course, about love (at first sight...?).
The story is inspired by Kate's character from The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare, but it also incorporates some other traditional stories, like that of the devil and the Szekler girl.
The ballet is due to premiere on the 16th of September, 7 PM, in the Black Hall of Szigligeti Studio. Tickets can be purchased at the booking office of Szigligeti Theatre, as per usual business hours.
