A Play About Us
The new production of the Nagyvárad Ensemble, Collisions, had its premiere last night. The play is about people today – their stories and twists of fate. The world is diverse, we are all different and still similar to each other, and so is our fate – different and yet similar – sometimes even the same. Sometimes we meet, sometimes we walk parallel to each other, sometimes we collide. It isn't all the same what happens to us, and why.
Eleven dancers, nine coreographers, six musicians, a director, a composer, a dramaturgist and a costume designer collaborated on the play, still they managed to bring to stage a uniform and dynamic performance, that holds the audience spellbound. The production's music – drawing heavily on elements of folk music – engages the members of the audience unknowingly, with its tales told by the coreographies, using personal experiences. Cári Tibor's score is played not only on the instruments, but also on the audience's souls.
The next performance of the play will take place on Tuesday, the 15th of November, then on Sunday the 20th,, from 7 PM.
The play is supported from the National Cultural Fund of Hungary and the Bethlen Gábor Fund.
