The Shrew in Carei

Nagyvárad Ensemble will present their performance The Shrew tonight at 7, in the recently renovated Municipal Theatre Carei. The performance adapts the story of the stubborn girl, well-known from Hungarian folk tales, and also Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, using elements of folk dance and music. It is directed by Csaba László. The dance performance tells about the questionable nature of male and female roles, freedom and love, and shows that everybody needs somewhere to belong – ideally, the community they were born into. Tickets will be available on location.
