VANmeSE – Children's Performance
We have less than a week to go until the new premiere by Nagyvárad Ensemble, titled VANmeSE. The performance is for children, and features a lot of music and poetry. The performance's director, multiple award-winning Hungarian dancer, choreographer and director Jolán Foltin, dedicated this show to children of all ages, using contemporary children's poems.
“We see children on the stage, but these children are played by adult dancers, with a thorough knowledge and experience in the art of dance. On the stage, we, as adults, act like preschoolers – we use childlike movements, sometimes adding high-difficulty dance moves. We try to think about what it was like when we were kids, and what it is like for us to play with children now. I wanted them to feel the humor that the poets had hidden into these poems” – Jolán Foltin has said in an earlier interview about the performance.
In the performance, poems by great contemporary poets will be recited, among others, byAnna Szabó T. and Endre Kukorelly, accompanied by the music composed especially for this show by composers Ferenc Kiss and Zsigmond Lázár.
