Bridge of Ballads in Bihor county

Nagyvárad Ensemble of Szigligeti Theatre, within its educational program Theatre in School, School in Theatre, presents the first performance of the project Bridge of Ballads. Our partners in the production were Arany János Cultural Association, Arany János High School, Salonta City Council, and Zilahy Lajos Cultural Centre.

The performance features almost 50 people, such as the dancers of Toldi Ensemble, Galagonya Ensemble, students of Arany János High School, the participants of Arany-core Music Championship, as well as artists of Szigligeti Company and Nagyvárad Ensemble. The students were instructed by actress Edit Firtos and dancer-choreographer Anikó Brugós, whereas the dances were compiled by Zsombor Forgács, Sándor Brugós, and Mercédesz Szabó. The children's games were coordinated by Ilona Szerefi.

The performance premiered at Zilahy Lajos Cultural Centre, in front of a full house. Photos of the show can be accessed here.

This was only the first performance of the event series. Amateur dance ensembles and school students from many other towns of the county are already preparing for their own shows that are due to be presented in the coming months.

The show is financed by the Government of Hungary, the Prime Minister's Office, and Bethlen Gábor Fund.
